Medical Malpractice

Ray Coleman - medical malpractice attorney representing people with medical malpractice cases

Medical malpractice, simply put, occurs when your medical provider deviates from the normal standard of care. Medical providers are required to exercise reasonable care in accordance with the standards of care for the profession involved. If a doctor, surgeon, hospital, or other medical provider acts, or fails to act, in a manner that deviates from the accepted standard of care, then that provider may be liable for an injured person’s damages. Though the majority of health care providers do good work, mistakes are sometimes made which could adversely affect a person, as well as their family and friends, for the rest of their lives. At the Law Offices of Ray Coleman, we represent individuals and their families whose medical provider has breached the standard of care in diagnosing or treating medical conditions. We have extensive experience in cases involving:

  • Birth-related injuries
  • Brain injuries
  • Surgical errors
  • Misdiagnosis or late diagnosis
  • Failure to diagnose cancer
  • Obstetrical and gynecological malpractice
  • Patient neglect
  • Medication errors

Medical Malpractice is a specialty that cannot be undertaken by the casual practitioner. Medical malpractice involves complex issues of law and specialized knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care.

Ray Coleman has handled hundreds of medical malpractice cases over the past 26 years. While medical malpractice is a tough field requiring extensive knowledge and efforts, Ray Coleman undertakes medical malpractice cases with the same fervor devoted to other fields.

Medical malpractice cases must be chosen wisely, not all medical malpractice cases justify a medical malpractice lawsuit. In order for a medical malpractice case to be viable, the medical malpractice case must involve clear evidence of medical malpractice of the part of the health care provider and to damages suffered by the medical malpractice victim must be substandard and serious. Contact Ray Coleman if you need help with a medical malpractice.

ReSULTS

Cases E

I represented a thirty four year old female client in a medical malpractice case. My client suffered brain damage while receiving a nerve block injection for neck and shoulder pain. The brain damage resulted when the doctor mistakenly injected Lidocaine into the vertebral artery, which resulted in cardiac paralysis followed by thirteen minutes of Anoxia (lack of oxygen to the brain). The case settled in excess of the $1 million policy limit prior to the filing of suit.
